Pair of high-shouldered cloisonné vases - Ando mark
A pair of high-shouldered cloisonné vases, their rich cobalt grounds excellent foils for the luxuriant displays of exotic birds and flowering sakura covering their front surfaces. On the reverse of each, brilliant leaves in graduated greens and natural tones sprout from gnarled tree branches rising from the bases. Geometric brocading borders the lip and foot of each. Silver Ando mark on bases. Heights, 12". Ca 1900. Lined storage boxes.
