An extraordinary gold lacquer two-tiered stand,
its ground abundantly sprinkled with clusters of
nashiji, its two full aprons designed ensuite,
resting upon cabriole legs on the lower tier.
Upon its top surface, an extravagant depiction
of kiku in two tones of gold lacquer rest against
a fence, while the apron and lower tier is
splashed with groves of woodsy flowers. This
lovely stand, its depictions of honored natural
subjects richly lacquered in hiramakie is a
thing-of-beauty unto itself or it can serve as a
resplendent pedestal to hold a favored artwork.
Height, 10.25"; length, 14.5". Meiji Period.
