silver coffee pot carved overall with a profusion of kiku - Meiji Period
An unusual, aesthetically exciting silver coffee pot carved overall with a profusion of kiku, a few placed strategically upon the handle and lid. In contrast to the highly-textured surface of its body and domed lid, the pure arcs of the handle and spout call attention to the spontaneity of design. (It is probable that this splendid pot was part of a silver service exported abroad during the period.) Height, 10.5". Meiji Period.
