A Japanese Pair of Iron Vases - Suzuki Chokichi Signature - Meiji Period
A dramatic pair of iron vases on self-pedestal bases, their bronze handles sculpted as stylized dragons. On their bodies, silver-lined cartouches exhibit brilliant sprays of autumnal maple leaves and kiku in high relief. Executed with the copper alloys and silver and gold characteristic of the works of this master metalworker, his classic Suzuki Chokichi signature seal and double mountain mark are located on the bases. Heights, 10.75". Meiji Period.
