A Japanese Round, Silver-Lined Shakudo Censer - Hattori Mark - Meiji Period
A round, silver-lined shakudo censer of unusual form on three sculptural legs, its pierced, dome-like cover surmounted by a silver and enamel kiku bud finial. The body, with assorted butterflies kaga-inlaid with silver, gold, shakudo, copper and shibuichi, serves as a perfect ground for the multi-width wiring and enamel colorations defining each creature. Hattori mark on base. Height, 3.5"; width, 5". Meiji Period.
