A Pair of Japanese Silver-Inlaid Iron Abumi - Masahige - Edo Period
A pair of fine silver-inlaid iron abumi with red-lacquered interiors. The pair is kaga-inlaid overall with butterflies and peony buds, heraldic symbols adopted by many samurai clans of old. Silver inlaid characters in the front translate to: “Made by MASAHIGE from Kaga Province, Kanazawa Town.” Heights, 9"; lengths, 12". Edo Period.
