By Makuzu Kozan, Meiji era (1868-1912), early 20th century
Painted in underglaze blue with a large majestic ho-o with its long feathers trailing from the neck and extending across the body of the vase, reserved on a yellow ground body; signed on the base in underglaze blue Makuzugama Kozan sei. 29.3cm (11¼in) high.
